NME.COM - News - Bono named ‘Person Of The Year’ by Time magazine
Is Bono the real deal? I seriously hope so, if he turns out to be a swendling dirt bag, ever, a piece of me will die, and humanity will suffer. I have always been able to respect the causes Bono represents, because it does not seem to be exploitation. After rocking the Qwest Center, Bono stayed an extra day in Omaha, NE to meet with the board of D.A.T.A. Debt, Aids, Trade, Africa has board members here in Omaha, like the daughter of the 2nd richest in the world, Buffet. Actually, we had the worlds wealth all in the same room, at the Joslyn Art Museum, where else- Omaha, NE. The Gates’ Family also snuck into Omaha, to shoot the cover photo for the Time Magazine Cover. [ bugmenot.com sign-in for Omaha.com ]
Despite tight security, Hess said, Bill and Melinda Gates walked through the front lobby. As Time reports this week, reporter Josh Tyrangiel sat with Bono, Bill and Melinda in Omaha for a Q-and-A. The trio were saluted not for their contributions to music or computers, but for their philanthropy, especially in the causes of poverty and global health.
Bill may be the CEO of the most hated OS, but no one can hate his charity work! I think this should be displayed more, because the public majority is unaware of his contributions.

Microsoft and Mtv…To large companies with plenty of resources to make a good music store. Will it?
Tell me what you think, and I will do an interview with the most interesting response.
Predictions:
1. Lame, with restrictions up the wahzoo
2. WMA DRM format
3. ALL hip-hop (Because that is all MTV is now a days)
4. $1.29 per download
5. $19.95 a month without the ability to transfer to a device
Any other ideas of how badly it is going to be? It is also the biggest no news story for yesterday. I sat around waiting for a “big scoop” to be let down just as I will next month when the official release is given.
Oh! another perdiction…
Won’t be available until March and Paul McCartney will be the spokes person.

Richard Pryor, the comedian whose animated, rapid-fire delivery and powerful touch with taboo subject matter created a body of influence that extended far beyond comedy, reportedly passed away on Saturday (December 10). He was 65. Pryor’s renegade stand-up style earned him a reputation as one of the most filthy comics of the 1970s. It also made him wildly popular, and turned a mainstream audience on to his deeper subject matter, which helped push ideas about racial inequity to the forefront.
He went Hollywood, like so many comedians who would follow, starring in a string of hits including “Stir Crazy” and “Silver Streak.” His stand-up film “Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip” set the form that others from Murphy to Eddie Griffin to Andew Dice Clay would later emulate.
There is nothing I can say to this. He was a comedian that I would always stop and watch. No matter what crappy movie he was in. His comedy act was definitely his strong suit. To say he wasn’t an inspiration to others to be funny would be naive. I remember my friends and I would always try to repeat his jokes. Of course with fail, but we still laughed remembering his facial expressions. Comedy is missing another icon, but we can always remember his courage recovering from a freebase accident. Seriously, admired him and his fight with MS.

There is not much to say, but listen to this disc on AOL before you buy it. Korn “See you on the otherside”, They blow there load on “Twisted Transistor” and the next song they TRY to sing with harmony. I don’t know if they are trying to do a System of the Down thing but…
they didn’t do it!
I forgot I was supposed to be reviewing this disc and listening intently. Instead it became white noise and I was surfing all over…I even got up to eat dinner!
If you buy this disc you will be disappointed!

If you see this man, do not approach, use extreme caution…Well, only if you are a bigger celebrity then him.
‘Out Of Control’ Scott Stapp Incites Melee With 311 At Baltimore Hotel
12.01.2005 4:07 PM EST [ MTV.com ]
Former Creed singer brawled in lounge with three members of 311 on Thanksgiving.
The last I heard, Creed and Stapp, broke up because of his drinking problem.
The pinnacle of Creed’s problems took place in Chicago in December 2002. Whether Stapp was inebriated or simply sick, as he had claimed, his performance was so terrible that some members of the crowd sued the band for sucking. [ MTV.com ]
This is the beginning of the end for Stapp’s career. He is an artist full of conflict, and his implosion is just starting to play out in public.

To Our Valued Customers:
You may be aware of the recent attention given to the XCP content protection software included on some SONY BMG CDs. This software was provided to us by a third-party vendor, First4Internet. Discussion has centered on security concerns raised about the use of CDs containing this software.
We share the concerns of consumers regarding these discs, and we are instituting a program that will allow consumers to exchange any CD with XCP software for the same CD without copy protection. We also have asked our retail partners to remove all unsold CDs with XCP software from their store shelves and inventory. Please click here for exchange program details.
We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause our customers and we are committed to making this situation right. It is important to note that the issues regarding these discs exist only when they are played on computers, not on conventional, non-computer-based CD and/or DVD players.
Our new initiatives follow the measures we have already taken, including last week’s voluntary suspension of the manufacture of CDs with the XCP software. In addition, to address security concerns, we provided to major software and anti-virus companies a software update, which also may be downloaded at http://cp.sonybmg.com/xcp/english/updates.html. We will shortly provide a simplified and secure procedure to uninstall the XCP software if it resides on your computer.
Ultimately, the experience of consumers is our primary concern, and our goal is to help bring our artists’ music to as broad an audience as possible. Going forward, we will continue to identify new ways to meet demands for flexibility in how you and other consumers listen to music.[Sony BMG press release]

WARNING:This CD Contains “Extended Content”
That’s right kids, this should be a WARNING label. Flip over that CD…is it from Sony/BMG label? YES!…set it down, walk away, and go home to download the disk. Have you ever heard of DRM? I have, but all I understand (care to) is it writes code on to your computer. The code will write in a time limit or verification id to a MP3 or the new Windows OS. In the case of your CD, play it on a Windows system and it will install a “Root Kit”. You will get the usual EULA and ask, “can we install this easily removable software on to your hard drive?” When actually it is modifying your kernel with this Root Kit. Sony/BMG didn’t stop there though, it will also scan your disk 8 times a second (? slows your system to a crawl) and then communicates back to the mother ship. Sending information concerning how many times you have listened to the disk, or songs on the disk, along with your system information.
So do you feel like you have just been anally raped by the Bill of Rights?
Are you going to be purchasing a Sony/BMG disc?
Do you still feel like downloading songs legally or illegally?
