What I find interesting about traveling, or just being in a different city, is to listen to local radio. I am in Pheonix, AZ for New Years and have found a great indie radio station, The Edge 103.9 FM. They have an enjoyable mix of older punk and pop-rock hits from the late 70’s to today. That mix also offers support for the local bands too. I think that is what I enjoy the most about the station. They are not to obscure with there tastes, and that is also noticable by the local bands they will give air play. I guess, all I can do is suggest you listen to the station if you are within ear shot of Pheonix.

Pitchfork Media, a favorite of mine, has a few lists for you list-ening pleasure
Top 50 Albums of 2005
Top 50 Singles of 2005
Another site that has proven to have some good music news, Entertainment Weekly. It is wierd, but the pick some of the same albums the other sources did. [ via topix.net ]
Entertainment Weekly 2005 Top 10
A blogger with good taste and a list that covers a cool spectrum of ‘05.
Jared Christensen
Along the same line, a blogger, that believes no one else is going to make an obscene amount of money by selling out. (Weblogs, Inc. of course like most bloggers, myself included, could give a shit what anyone else thinks…scrivs not included)

Microsoft and Mtv…To large companies with plenty of resources to make a good music store. Will it?
Tell me what you think, and I will do an interview with the most interesting response.
Predictions:
1. Lame, with restrictions up the wahzoo
2. WMA DRM format
3. ALL hip-hop (Because that is all MTV is now a days)
4. $1.29 per download
5. $19.95 a month without the ability to transfer to a device
Any other ideas of how badly it is going to be? It is also the biggest no news story for yesterday. I sat around waiting for a “big scoop” to be let down just as I will next month when the official release is given.
Oh! another perdiction…
Won’t be available until March and Paul McCartney will be the spokes person.

Has AOL been quitely listening to consumers? I am amazed that I would be talking positive about AOL. Well, I am specificly speaking about the AOL Music section.
You can:
1. Listen to whole albums of featured artist. (Hint: Search for your favorite artist, they may have a link to listen to there newest release if not on the “Listening Party” page)
2. Free Music Downloads (don’t need to supply email, just gender and birthdate)
3. XM Radio Stations (From what I can tell they are free!)
4. Indepth artist information. (Comparable to MTV.com)
5. Tons of Music Videos
6. Streaming Live Concerts
7. Interviews and Sessions
8. Internet Reality Show
So what if you signed up for an AOL account to get that free computer, because you paid more for your AOL account then what the computer was worth. You can access AOL Music without being a member.

There is not much to say, but listen to this disc on AOL before you buy it. Korn “See you on the otherside”, They blow there load on “Twisted Transistor” and the next song they TRY to sing with harmony. I don’t know if they are trying to do a System of the Down thing but…
they didn’t do it!
I forgot I was supposed to be reviewing this disc and listening intently. Instead it became white noise and I was surfing all over…I even got up to eat dinner!
If you buy this disc you will be disappointed!
